Tangles Studio is a culmination of the varied and long-standing interests of creative and designer, Sarita Giles.

Drawing on a curative object practice from career experience in furniture and design consulting and creative practice of textile making, styling, and photography, I provide consultations on the design background, cultural theme and history of each piece, as well as work with shape and colour to create movement and repetition - to give life to each space and to infuse feeling into creating bespoke and artful interiors.

With a career background in product development and materiality, a transition into interiors in 2015 began a chapter of various projects in colour consulting and sales for architectural and high-end indoor and outdoor furniture in New Zealand and Australia. A year of travel in Asia in 2022 wrote another notable chapter of homewares and textile research, telling stories of colours, patterns and ethnic local materials in homewares.

In 2024-2025 I gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Creative Technologies researching interior specifications for interior textiles, New Zealand wool acoustics and visual arts studio work with a focus towards improving healthcare environments for dementia and aged care, through sensory design. The design work has always had a personal motivation within it, and the creative journey continues within Tangles Studio projects.
